Special 5-Day Morocco Student Desert Tour from MarrakechAirport transfers, the High Atlas & the Sahara for student groups

Welcome to Morocco! Upon arrival at Marrakech Menara Airport, our driver will meet your student group and assist with the transfer to your accommodation in Marrakech.

After check-in, students will have time to relax after the flight and prepare for the desert journey. Depending on your arrival time, the group can enjoy some free time in Marrakech.

If you arrive early enough, you can take a walk around Jemaa el-Fna and experience the lively atmosphere of the old medina. Students can see local food stalls, shops and everyday life around one of Marrakech's busiest areas.

There is no fixed sightseeing program on the arrival day, making the schedule flexible according to your flight time. In the evening, return to your accommodation for your first night in Morocco, and your driver will confirm the following morning's departure time for Merzouga.

After an early breakfast, leave Marrakech for the journey toward the Sahara. Cross the High Atlas Mountains, enjoying views of mountain valleys, traditional villages and changing landscapes along the way.

Continue through the Ouarzazate area and travel east toward the desert. This is a long driving day, but there will be stops for lunch, refreshments, photographs and short breaks along the route.

As you travel farther south and east, the green mountain scenery gradually changes into rocky desert landscapes. Continue toward Erfoud and Rissani before reaching Merzouga and the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi.

Depending on the arrival time, students will meet their camel guides and ride across the dunes toward the desert camp. If the group arrives after sunset, transportation to the camp can instead be arranged by 4×4.

Enjoy dinner at the camp followed by traditional music under the desert sky.

Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes before enjoying breakfast at the camp. Today is dedicated entirely to exploring Merzouga and the surrounding Sahara landscapes.

Begin a private 4×4 excursion around the dunes, travelling along desert tracks and visiting different areas around Erg Chebbi. Stop in Khamlia village, where students can listen to traditional Gnawa music and learn about local culture.

Depending on local conditions, the excursion can also include a visit with a nomadic family and stops at panoramic locations around the desert. The experience gives students an opportunity to learn about everyday life and traditions in this part of Morocco.

After lunch, enjoy free time near the dunes. Students can try sandboarding, take photographs or simply relax. Optional quad biking can also be arranged.

After an early breakfast, leave Merzouga and begin the return journey to Marrakech. Travel through Rissani and the landscapes of southern Morocco before continuing west toward Ouarzazate.

This is another long travel day, so several stops can be made along the route for refreshments, lunch and photographs. The journey gives students another opportunity to see how Morocco's landscapes change between the Sahara, rocky valleys and mountain regions.

Continue through the Ouarzazate area before crossing the High Atlas Mountains toward Marrakech. Panoramic stops can be made when time and road conditions allow.

Arrive in Marrakech in the evening and check into your accommodation. After the long journey from the Sahara, the group can relax at the hotel or enjoy a final evening in the city, depending on the arrival time. Your driver will confirm the airport pickup time for the following day.

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel or riad before preparing for your departure from Morocco.

Your final morning will depend on the scheduled flight time. If your flight leaves later in the day, students can enjoy some free time in Marrakech for last-minute shopping, a walk through the medina or simply relaxing at the accommodation.

At the agreed time, our driver will meet the group and provide a private transfer to Marrakech Menara Airport. We recommend planning the transfer with enough time for airport check-in and security procedures.

Upon arrival at the airport, your Special Morocco Student Desert Tour comes to an end after five days combining Marrakech, the High Atlas Mountains and the Sahara Desert at Merzouga.
